The insurgents who stormed our Capitol on 1.6.21 committed a grave sin, lured in by a false gospel perpetuated by President Trump and corrupted politicians, determined to hold onto power they did not earn.

These militants took up arms in a deadly attack on behalf of President Trump: a false idol they've now come to worship, as they've ingested lies over the past four years. 

These lies not only came from President Trump himself, but from elected leaders across the country and our own state of Tennessee, which has resulted in millions of Americans believing there to be election fraud, and thousands being moved to action to attack our democracy in our Nation’s Capitol. And as Matthew tells us in chapter 18 verse 6, “If anyone causes one of those who believe in me—to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.” 

We must hold accountable any politician, regardless of their party, who slanders their oath by bearing false witness against our country, by voting against the will of the people, and whose repeated rhetoric spreading lies about the election results has incited an immoral following to take up arms against our country, and this includes Representatives: Diana Harshbarger, Tim Burchett, Chuck Fleischmann, Scott Desjarlais, Mark Green, Dave Kustoff.

Only when we have accountability can we move forward, assured that all who govern  in this great democracy will represent all of us with honesty and integrity.
