Governor Bill Lee,

Your position as Governor, and as a man of faith, means it is your moral responsibility to demand legislation that uplifts the dignity of thousands of Tennesseans by calling a special legislative session.

The decision of our elected leaders to deprive the vulnerable of health care by not expanding Medicaid runs in contrast to the teachings and works of Jesus Christ. The Book of Matthew describes Jesus as "healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people" (Matthew 4:23). 

When our state’s health care system leaves so many people uncared for – impacting human life itself – action becomes necessary. The Tennessee General Assembly has failed to act for far too long.
